iPhones are too good to be confined to just two cell service providers. Rumors before the phones were even officially announced said Apple planned to make them open so they could be used on any/many cell phone carriers.
Sadly the reality of the cell phone industry changed Apple’s plans, and the phones were confined to first just AT&T and later Verizon as well. Still, people have been jailbreaking iPhones since they first came out.
The problem with do-it-yourself jailbreaking is that it is risky. Most of us do not want to take the chance of ruining such an expensive device–and voiding the Apple warranty—ourselves. But you don’t have to take that risk to have an unlocked iPhone.
Canada Post offers several styles of unlocked iPhone 4, already done for you, so you can be sure the phone works. You don’t have to mess with trying to jailbreak it yourself, and you can use your iPhone 4 on any cell phone carrier with compatible technology.
As far as I’m concerned, that’s the only way to go!
