How much is the iPhone 4g if I cancel my plan immediately?
I want to get an iPhone 4g for my girlfriend for her birthday but am planning on canceling the ATT plan with an early termination fee.
How much will the cost of the phone, termination fee and activation fee cost?

$36 – Activation Fee
$54.99 – Voice & Data Plans
$325 – Early Termination Fee (you’ll have to wait 30 days to cancel the contract, because they will take the phone back beforehand)
There is a no contract option
$599/$699 – iPhone 4 (16GB/32GB)
$36 – Activation Fee
$54.99 – Voice & Data Plans
If you’re planning on putting it on another network make note that cancelling the contract doesn’t unlock it. You will still have to do that on your own.

I’m planning to buy a new iphone 4g without a contract but the problem is I dont know which firmware it has. I hope it’s not 4.1 because it’s unjailbreakable.

There’s no such thing as an iPhone 4g. It’s an iPhone 4. It depends on when the phones shipped. All phones shipped after 4.1 was released are running 4.1. Since inventory doesn’t last long in stores, it’s likely that anything in stores now is running 4.1.

How much is the iphone 4g going to be if you dont have an upgrade available?
I have had At&t since december of last year and I have an iphone 3g.. How much is the 4g going to be without the upgrade?

I am in the same case. I got my iphone 3gs 5 months ago and am not eligible for an upgrade until next year. I went to the ATT store yesterday and found out that I can upgrade to the new iphone 4 32 GB for $499 + one time $18 early upgrade fee.
